FAQ
FAQ
What is DUCK DEPT?
A streetwear brand from Aalborg, Denmark, started in 2012. It used to be called DUCK DENMARK. Same people, same idea, new name. We have only ever made clothes for our friends, and if you are here, you are close enough to count.
Why did you change the name from DUCK DENMARK?
Because DUCK stopped being just Danish. The people wearing it are spread across Europe now, and the name needed to travel with them. DEPT is short for department: the part of the crew that makes the clothes.
Where are the clothes made?
In Europe. We keep production close so we can control fit and finish, and so we can visit the people who sew our pieces.
How does the fit run?
Oversized, on purpose. Dropped shoulders, wide body, straight hem. If you want the look in our photos, take your normal size. If you prefer a closer fit, go one size down. The full size chart is on the Fit and sizing page.
Is it unisex?
Yes. Everything is cut the same way for everyone. Women usually take one size down from the unisex chart, or match their chest measurement to the chart directly.
I am between two sizes. Which one?
Smaller for a regular fit, larger for the oversized look. Still unsure? Mail us your height and the size you normally wear, and we will tell you what to pick.
What is the difference between the logos?
There are four. The script is the original handwriting from 2012. The arched DUCK is the college version. The wordmark is DUCK DEPT in wide-set capitals. The box logo is the script inside a square. Every product page says which one it carries and where.
Why are the products named after streets?
Every style is named after a place in Aalborg, Denmark, where we started. Nørregade is where the first DUCK store stood. Jomfru Ane is the street nobody goes to for quiet, so it carries the biggest logo. Hasseris is the quiet end of town, so it carries the smallest. The colour comes after the comma.
What is a drop?
A small release of a few styles at a time. We do not run a permanent catalogue with endless stock. When a drop is gone, it is gone.
Will you restock a sold-out piece?
Sometimes, not always. Some pieces come back in a later drop, some never do. Follow us on Instagram or sign up for mail and you will hear first.
Do you have a physical store?
Not right now. The first DUCK store was on Nørregade in Aalborg, Denmark. Today we sell online and at pop-ups. When one is coming, we announce it on Instagram.
How do I contact you?
Mail only: info@duckdept.com. No chatbot, no ticket system. The mailbox is read by the people who make the clothes, and we answer every mail in the order it arrives.
I made a mistake in my order. Can I change it?
Mail us straight away with your order number in the subject line. If the order has not been packed yet, we fix it. If it has already shipped, we sort it as a return or exchange instead.
My piece arrived damaged or it is the wrong item. What now?
Mail us a photo and your order number. We will get the right piece to you and tell you what to do with the wrong one. You will not be left with the problem.
How should I wash it?
Follow the label inside the piece. As a rule for anything printed or embroidered: turn it inside out, wash cold, skip the tumble dryer and hang it to dry. The print stays sharp longer that way.
Are caps and beanies one size?
Yes. Caps have an adjustable strap with a metal buckle at the back. Beanies are ribbed knit with a fold-over cuff and stretch to fit.
Can I collaborate with DUCK, stock DUCK, or write about DUCK?
Mail info@duckdept.com with one line about who you are and what you have in mind. Same address for collabs, stockists and press. We read all of it.
